House
This is a house. It is made of sago leaves. Traditionally, it is built for cooking and sleeping. Today, they only build these houses for using as a kitchen and also garden houses for sleeping in and managing crops.

This is a mosquito net. It comes from the foreigners. In traditional times, people slept without mosquito nets and died of malaria. Nowadays, they sleep under mosquito nets which prevents them from getting sick with malaria.

Cassowary egg
This is a cassowary egg. Men hunt in the forests and bring back these cassowary eggs which they look after until they hatch. When they hatch they build a fence and keep the chicks inside. They feed them until they grow big. People used to kill them for consumption and also to make a payment for deceased people. Today, they still look after them for their own consumption and sell them for cash.

Eating implement
This is an eating implement. It is made from the dead remains of a fern. It is made purposely for eating pandanus fruit, which is cooked in a stone oven, and is used to extract its juice onto baked taro.

This is a bush knife. It comes from the white man. In traditional times, they used stone blades for gardening. This bush knife had taken the place of stone blades and today people use these knives for gardening, cutting trees and chopping fire wood.

This is an axe. It was introduced by the white man. In our ancestors days, they used stone axes for chopping trees and gardening. Nowadays, they use these introduced axes for chopping trees and gardening which makes life more sophisticated.

Money
This is money. This money was introduced by foreigners. Our ancestors used dog’s teeth, head dresses and shells to buy "pride price" and other things. These days, they use this money to buy manufactured goods and also for "pride price" payments.

This is a pig. They bring piglets and look after them until they grow big. They used to kill them for feasts and also for payments of deceasesd people. Today, pigs are still looked after for consumption and for sale.

String bag
This is a string bag. It is made using strings of tulip barks and feathers of a cockatoo. Traditionally, it is used for traditional sing-sing and dancing. Nowadays, it is used for singing in church and also welcoming people coming for special occasions from other places.
